Walter Wilgus

Construction Project Manager

Walter has long exhibited an interest in construction. At the age of 6, his passion began when he started building tree houses for fun. Later throughout high school and college, he spent his summers tackling residential painting, repairs, and renovations. After receiving his bachelor’s in architecture from the School of Design at North Carolina State University, Walter worked in Philadelphia before relocating to Maine. Walter spent 30 years as a self-employed contractor managing residential remodels, kitchen and bath updates, and additions. He then pivoted to work for many reputable firms throughout Maine as a Project Manager overseeing both commercial and residential projects. As a Construction Project Manager at Knickerbocker Group, Walter wears many hats and collaborates frequently with clients as well as architects and sub-contractors to ensure projects stay on track and budget. Walter and his wife live in Phippsburg and enjoy bike riding, hiking, water and snow skiing, fishing, camping, and gardening.

LIFE IN MAINE

For Walter, summer and fall are the best in Maine. Accustomed to summer vacations in Nags Head, North Carolina, Walter has grown to love the summers here in Maine. Walter enjoys camping throughout the state, especially Mt. Blue State Park as well as boating between Boothbay Harbor and Portland with occasional visits to Sebago and Damariscotta lakes. In the fall he always plans a trip to the Fryeburg Fair and some hiking in NH….then it’s time to bundle up for the winter!
