ABOUT

Steve Doe, PLA

Design Studio Leader, Landscape Architecture, Licensed Landscape Architect, ME

Over the course of his prolific career, which has spanned 35 years, Steve has been an instrumental part of Maine’s most notable landscape designs including the Boothbay Harbor Country Club, Kennebunkport’s Hidden Pond Resort, the Claremont Hotel in Southwest Harbor, and countless commercial, hospitality and high-end residential projects. For Steve, fulfillment comes from listening to the needs of his clients and meeting their requests with careful guidance and exceptional design. At Knickerbocker Group, Steve works directly with our clients and fellow designers on site planning, master planning, and bringing beautiful, ecologically-minded landscape designs to life.

Steve has a BS in Landscape Architecture from the Ohio State University and is a Registered Landscape Architect in the state of Maine as well as a LEED-certified green designer. He resides in Kennebunkport with his wife Ann in a home he designed and finished. Together they lovingly raised three children. As a passion project, Steve also runs Whitten Hill Studio where he designs and builds Adirondack-style furniture and unique cutting boards—he can often be found in his woodshop honing his craft.

KG CULTURE, MISSION + VALUES

Steve notes, we are just down to earth people. Everyone respects everyone for who they are. Real people, who are talented and think outside the box. Steve feels pushed to really consider design at the next level. Steve retired and returned to KG to continue with his passion for residential landscape design! He was with his former firm for 35 years.

LIFE IN MAINE

Enjoying a warm September day lakeside at Mount Blue State Park. A cool evening in October by our fire pit, cooking pizza in the outside oven and enjoying time with the family. A special treat is spending a weekend at Bald Mountain Camps in Oquassoc.
