ABOUT

Danielle Betts, PE

President

Danielle guides Knickerbocker Group’s strategic and operational practices, bridging design with construction and property management. She has worked in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry for over 25 years in both real estate and development, and as a licensed professional engineer and land use specialist.

Danielle is fascinated by ideas: new and different ways to do things to improve upon a concept or make better progress. She is drawn to the unique qualities of each person, striving to understand what inspires them so she can help channel their passion into an action plan for the future.

With a deep and thoughtful understanding of each individual, Danielle focuses on team building, enlivening collaboration by honoring the value of each person, their singular perspective, and varied viewpoints. As individual strengths are aligned with personal passions, employees celebrate great personal and professional success, and in this way, Knickerbocker Group’s leadership team continues to grow steadily from within.

Always with an eye to the future, Danielle energizes others with imagination and vision for what’s possible. She listens to team members’ dreams and ideas to drive innovation and change within the company. With a deep respect for employee-owner contributions, Danielle strives to perpetuate a culture that is fun, purpose-driven, celebratory, and mission-aligned.    Danielle and her husband, artist Brad Betts, built their own home in East Boothbay where they raised their two boys. In 2017, the family launched Down East Gallery in Edgecomb, Maine, a creative space for art, music, and community events.

KG CULTURE, MISSION + VALUES

Our culture of YES. We are an idea-driven, innovative, solutions-based company. Whether a client idea or one of our own, we visualize a way to make it happen and then do, in a way that is fun, creative, and inspiring.

LIFE IN MAINE

Sleeping outside from spring to fall, waking up to bird song and falling asleep to peepers. Laying in the hammock, looking up into the same towering white pines as my father did, and his father did too, when he acquired the family camp 90+ years ago. Sitting on the rocks at Ocean Point with family, a guitar, a sun set blazing to the west, and a big moon rising to the east.
