At age 16, Derek began his career as a carpenter with a frame to finish crew here in Maine. He has extensive wood working experience including cabinet shops in Fairfield County, Connecticut and furniture studios in Manhattan, New York City. During the three years prior to joining the Knickerbocker team as a site manager, Derek worked as a subcontractor on a number of our projects.
When he’s not on a job site he spends his time in the mountains on his bike or skis with his wife and their three boys.

It is all about the outdoors here. My family and I love all 4 seasons. We are passionate mountain bike riders and skiers, and have built most of our life outside of work around the two.
