Celebrating design’s people to watch

We are thrilled to announce that Design Studio Leader Julien Jalbert has been selected as one of New England Home’s 5 Under 40 honorees for 2025. Each year, the 5 Under 40 Awards recognize the finest emerging talent shaping New England’s residential design industry. Selected by a committee of regional design leaders, these honorees are producing some of the most beautiful and innovative work today.

Notable visionary

Since joining Knickerbocker Group in 2017, Julien has contributed to many of the firm’s most innovative and forward-thinking projects, emphasizing sustainable and healthy design principles. His work has earned notable design awards, including the 2019 AIA Maine Design Award for Stoneview Barn, a 2021 AIA Maine Design Award for the Stoneview Spa, and a 2024 AIA Maine Design Award Honor Award for Excellence in Architecture for Lupine I, Knickerbocker Group’s first Prefab Pod build.

Julien also plays an instrumental role in developing Knickerbocker Group’s Prefab Pod (ADU) division and leads the firm’s Sustainability and Innovation Committee. Julien is dedicated to advancing best-building practices and actively pursues this goal as a leading member. His efforts are driving the company toward new milestones of excellence.

A well-deserved recognition

Beyond his professional work, Julien mentors emerging talent as an active participant in the local design community. Julien has served as a board member of Architalx, ACE, and Habitat for Humanity.
