Our Wiscasset Prefab Pod facility recently welcomed Maine’s building science community for an evening dedicated to the future of modular homebuilding. We hosted high-performance offsite builders, designers, and collaborators who share a commitment to sustainable innovation, all coming together to explore our Prefab Pod approach to construction.
A Tour of High-Performance Innovation
Attendees toured our manufacturing facility, viewing Prefab Pods in various stages of construction. Led by Julien Jalbert, Greg Norton, and Keith Warren, guests engaged in discussions about our sustainable, high-performance, low-carbon building approach. Julien shared insights into the materials and techniques we prioritize, including Thermal Studs exterior walls for high performance with streamlined with fewer steps and greater efficiencies, and TimberHP dense pack and wood fiber batts for superior envelope insulation. We also highlighted our commitment to local materials, such as AdvanTech® Subflooring, ZIP System®, and Maine-made LP® Smartside® Siding, among others.
The event wasn’t just a tour—it was an active exchange of ideas and practices. This gathering underscored the collective passion within Maine’s building community to push the boundaries of building science, sustainability, and modular innovation. Looking ahead, the future of Prefab construction is bright here in Maine and beyond.
